Job Description
GVC are closely working with a highly regarded independent veterinary practice in Coventry as they seek a dedicated and compassionate veterinarian to join their exceptional team. With a strong reputation for providing outstanding care, they offer a supportive environment tailored to meet the needs of all vets, from recent graduates to those with decades of experience.
Support and Development for All Vets
They ensure that all their vets receive personalized support and development opportunities. New graduates benefit from a designated VetGDP Adviser for daily guidance and access to the renowned XLVets Graduate Development Programme. For more experienced vets, mentoring is customized to individual needs, including practical in-house scanning sessions, theatre-scrub-ins, monthly clinical club discussion groups, and regular one-to-one chats.
Experienced and Diverse Team
Their team of 15 vets includes several Certificate holders and specialists in areas such as imaging, surgery, medicine, dermatology, feline practice (Gold Cat Friendly), and ECC. They recently expanded their facilities to include dedicated areas for two scanners and digital x-ray, a designated dental room with dental x-ray, and separate wards for cats, dogs, and isolated cases. They even have a staff pet kennel area!
Work-Life Balance
With no night work required, as they’ve partnered with a local OOH provider for 20 years, their vets enjoy a balanced schedule. Late evening shifts are shared fairly, and the Saturday rota is just 1 in 4. An experienced colleague is always scheduled alongside new or recent graduates to provide hands-on support.
They offer a genuinely flexible working environment. If a standard working pattern isn’t for you, let them know what you prefer, and they’ll accommodate where possible.
