The Client:
They are a dynamic small animal hospital situated in the Kimberley region, with a dedicated team of four full-time veterinarians and 14 staff members. Their facility not only provides general veterinary care but also operates a busy boarding kennel, a Shire pound facility, and an on-site cremation service. They pride ourselves on our comprehensive in-house pathology capabilities and our active role in wildlife health and welfare.
Job Overview:
They are seeking a qualified Veterinary Nurse with several years of clinical experience to join our team. This role involves a rolling fortnightly roster, including varied caseloads with significant emergency and interesting medical cases. The facility is well-equipped and supports a wide range of activities, including working with the Shire rangers on welfare cases and assisting local wildlife groups as a sentinel clinic for Wildlife Health Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to small animals.
- Assist veterinarians with consultations, surgeries and medical procedures, including after-hours support if needed.
- Engage in a variety of caseloads, including emergency and welfare cases.
Additional information:
- Cert IV Qualified Veterinary Nurse
- Experience working in remote areas and handling emergency cases is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to assist with after-hours surgeries as needed.
- 70 hour Roster per fortnight.
- Shifts: Includes every other Saturday morning and one and a half days per week at our branch clinic in Derby, which requires an overnight stay.
