Veterinary Surgeon – Fixed Term Maternity Cover

Salary: Up to £60,000

An exciting opportunity is available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving and innovative practice on a maternity cover basis. This fixed-term position offers flexibility in working hours and a supportive environment that promotes both professional growth and work-life balance.

About the Role

This role is a fixed-term contract for 9 to 12 months, starting in February 2025. Flexible working options are available, including full-time (35 hours per week) or part-time hours.

  • Shifts: 9am–7pm or 9am–5pm, with a 1:3 Saturday rota.
  • No Out-of-Hours: No Sunday shifts, and time off in lieu is provided for weekend work.
  • Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of experience, be confident with routine surgeries, and demonstrate a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

The team comprises 3 full-time vets, 3 RVNs, an Auxiliary Nurse, 2 SVNs, and 2 VCAs, supported by a proactive client care team. The clinical team includes two experienced vets with Certificates in Surgery, specialising in orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery.
