The Role:
As an ECC Vet Nurse, you will provide comprehensive veterinary nursing care aligned with the Certificate IV of Veterinary Nursing or its equivalent. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clinicians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures in the Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) service.
- Triaging patients upon arrival and via telephone, following hospital policy.
- Communicating with clients, referring veterinarians, and the public by phone and email.
- Collaborating with the ECC Leadership team to enhance services and processes.
- Caring for patients in the surgical and medicine veterinary wards as needed.
- Performing additional tasks as required.
What You’ll Bring
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent, or a relevant Veterinary Nursing Diploma registrable in Western Australia.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in a veterinary practice.
- Confidence and skill in handling and restraining small animals.
- Excellent knowledge of diagnostic and surgical equipment, sterilization, and aseptic techniques.
- Strong organizational, time management, and workload prioritization skills.
- Ability to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
