Registered Veterinary Nurse
Salary: Up to £32,000 per year
Contract Length: Fixed term until October 2025
Location: Two small animal practices located 10 minutes apart

About the Opportunity
A full-time position is available for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) on a fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will work across two well-equipped small animal practices located just 10 minutes apart, both of which are dedicated to providing excellent veterinary care, including specialised clinics.

The role entails a 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday (8-hour shifts), with a requirement to work 1 in 6 full weekends.

Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

  • Provide exceptional care to patients and clients.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures, including pre- and post-procedure responsibilities.
  • Conduct nurse-led appointments and perform Schedule 3 activities.
  • Monitor and care for patients.
  • Manage admissions and discharges under the direction of the veterinary team.
  • Coordinate patient transfers for out-of-hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medications.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and practice standards.
  • Lead briefings to engage and coordinate the team, promoting efficient practice operations.

 

Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse (RCVS).
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional patient and client care.
  • Experience working effectively as part of a team.
  • Expertise in nurse consultations and an understanding of their impact on practice efficiency.
  • Strong coaching and influencing skills to support and inspire colleagues.
